Open Question: Why my female friend never ask me to hang out?

I'm a guy living in Birmingham, AL. I have a female friend who lives in ATL. We've been talking on the phone for about 10 months now, as friends. I asked her the other day why she never ask me to hang out...She says it's b/c she sees me as a friend and she doesn't want to mislead me to think that we're dating. However, whenever I've asked her if she wants to hang out, she's always said yes. I don't understand...I mean I understand her not wanting to mislead me, but why is she saying yes to hanging out with me when I bring it up???...Why has she never told me this whenever I ask her??? I'm confused...Help me out people. P.S. If she didn't want me to get the wrong idea, then wouldn't she just say "no" when I ask her to hang out??? I realize guys ask first....That wasn't the question about who should ask first. The only time the subject comes up is when I mention it. I'm just curious as to why she's never mentioned anything about it, but is receptive whenever I mention the subject.
